Our idea was to incorporate additional programme into the existing centre while creating internal & external spaces of varying scales to assist mothers and their children to rebuild their relationships. The new centre's design concept, in this way, developed as a reaction to the geometries of the Aoibhneas Centre as well as using its system of corridors to anchor the new into the existing. A sense of place is created which permeates into adjacent neighborhoods through both the physical intervention in the landscape and through a shared value system.
