European Housing Competition - Runner Up
Our aim was to put forward a strategic approach for the Irish suburbs to encourage greater efficiency of land use while setting standards for sustainable developments in terms of scale, density, materials and energy. A sense of place is created which permeates into adjacent neighborhoods through both the physical intervention in the landscape and through a shared value system. This change has to incorporate a new sustainable philosophy for occupying an area by its inhabitants which would continue through to all aspects of the proposed colonisation while offering adjacent communities the opportunity to share and contribute to this philosophy and visa-versa.
